The TAC 21 is the latest iteration of the reliable Double Barrel line, upgrading the rock solid foundation already established by the team at Squid Industries by utilizing the 21700 and 20700 formats of Li-ion batteries to provide a significantly more powerful 200W maximum power output while also boasting an elongated battery lifespan thanks to the inherently greater capacity of 21700 and 20700 formats when compared to 18650 Li-ion cells.
The form factor of the TAC 21 is only slightly larger than its predecessors, measuring in at 3.5” tall and featuring a sleek yet durable stainless steel chassis that enables this little tank to not only function as a vape, but also a blunt force weapon in case of emergencies.
And we’re not kidding when we say that. Few devices are as reliable or sturdy as the Double Barrel, and the TAC 21 takes that to a whole new level thanks to additional reinforcement of the exposed battery tubes and frame.
A crisp top-mounted OLED screen allows for easily keeping tabs on your device, with the location presenting all necessary information whenever the user hits the device. The user interface is just as convenient as the display, with the single button functioning both as a firing switch and an adjustment dial.
A no-frills, wattage only chipset acts as the driving force behind the TAC 21, incorporating a simple method of navigating the menu due to the previously mentioned adjustment dial and firing switch while also providing all safety features expected from a high-quality mod, from reverse polarity to short-circuit protections.
Squid Industries has taken their crictically acclaimed Double Barrel series to new heights with the TAC 21 by not attempting to fix a device that certainly wasn’t broke, delivering the humble approach they have arguably perfected and providing a degree of performance only possible by moving away from the 18650 Li-ion format.
